DEAR BABY BLOGGER EP1: 30 Tips for bloggers

Welcome to my first DEAR BABY BLOGGER post. As I mentioned in my 2017 blog update that I will be starting a new series called DEAR BABY BLOGGER where I will be giving tips on how to start and run a successful blog. I hope you enjoy and if you have any questions related to blogging please comment them.

  1. Create blog posts that answer the most interesting question
  2. Understand your audience
  3. Have a purpose for your blog
  4. Write for yourself first
  5. Build your email list
  6. Love your existing readers
  7. Get ideas from your audience
  8. Focus on building an amazing call-to-action
  9. Give stuff away
  10. Give it time
  11. Give your email list priority
  12. Write catchy headlines
  13. Be Yourself
  14. Keep it short
  15. Make it worth referencing
  16. Make your contents easy to share
  17. Don’t measure stats too early
  18. Invest in a good web design
  19. Plan blog posts ahead
  20. Connect with your readers
  21. Have a blogging goal and celebrate when your achieve them
  22. Find ways to regularly get inspired
  23. Write timeless contents
  24. Post engaging content
  25. Have high quality images
  26. Appreciate readers
  27. Write as often as possible
  28. Be organised
  29. Watch what experts do
  30. Don’t give up

No matter how great your content is, it won’t matter unless you have an amazing headline. People have a split second to decide if they should click on your post, and your headline will make them decide. The headline is also essential in making it easy and desirable for people to share your post. Keep your headlines SPUB: simple, powerful, useful and bold

And finally, remember that  A blog post is like a miniskirt. It has to be short enough to be interesting, but long enough to cover the subject.

  1. Thank for the insight! I definitely want to save this and revisit it often as I continue to grow my blog as a way to keep track of my progress and to help me keep inventory on things that are working and things I need to improve. This will be a very valuable resource!
